Eisteddfod 2024

19th March 2024

This year's Eisteddfod was a great success! Lots of fantastic competition entries from art in the style of Romero Britto, to biographies about Laura Ashely and fantastic daffodil art from the youngest members of our school. We also had fantastic singing and dancing! Da iawn pawb and llongyfarchiadau to Ty Glas for being this year's Eisteddfod winners.

Each year in school we celebrate our Welsh culture by holding our own school Eisteddfod. Our Eisteddfod this year will take place on Tuesday 19th March. On this day, the children are encouraged to wear their house colours instead of school uniform.

We have been taking part in lots of competitions in class with the children prior to the day such as writing and art. One of our other competitions is the home-school task where parents are encouraged to work with their children to produce a piece of work.

Home Task:

For this year’s home-school task, we would like your child to create a picture on the theme of ENERGY. You can use one or a combination of these media: Pencil, Ink, Crayon, Pastel or Paint and must measure no more than 760mm x 560mm.

All entries for the competition must be returned to school by Monday 18th March. As judging will take place on this day, any work that comes into school later than Monday 18th March will not be able to be entered into the competition.

The winning entries will also be entered into the National Eisteddfod for Wales Art competition.
